Just received the attached in my email today. After cleaning 2 Pizza Huts in this week, it was a poignant reminder…I will never, ever clean anotherPizza Hut again! With pads.

June 21, 2006 at 5:17 pm #146862AnonymousInactiveIn the past couple weeks we have come across 2 homes that had rooms that were completely trashed. We used HWE on both (Ninja) and after that process both situations still looked AWFUL. I then followed up with the pads and after I was done both situations were respectable all things considered (i.e. I wasn’t necessarily happy but the customers were impressed). Just remember, every cleaning method has it’s pluses and minuses. You will not make money using our system on HEAVILY SOILED carpet in my opinion, unless you really raise your prices accordingly for those jobs. We haven’t given many bids on restaurants for the reasons listed above. Too much grease and traffic involved to make it worth our time. Add to it that most are night jobs, or extremely early morning jobs, and that just makes them that much less appealing unless you have crews established specifically for this type of work. Anyway, my 2 cents……

June 21, 2006 at 11:49 pm #146864AnonymousInactiveOur motto is ‘just say no’ to restaurants for these reasons; bad hours, bad conditions, low profits, marginal results, and hard on equipment. It also seems that the ones in our area are looking for a great deal. No thanks!
June 22, 2006 at 2:17 am #146865pachecoParticipantI hope all of the new operators read this..we never heard it in class. The pads are almost impossible to clean as well. The one saving grace is that the managers loved the results. I guess the HWE guys do a terrible job.
With all of that …thanks to all and Amen.
June 22, 2006 at 2:36 am #146866AnonymousInactiveJust today a restuarant owner called me today for a per sqft price. I told them I would like to look B4 I bid but said it would be around .50 per sqft. She said brand X would do it for .22. I said are you looking for cheap or quality? She said cheap. I said call Stanley Steemer!!!!!!
June 26, 2006 at 1:20 pm #146867pachecoParticipantI remember from our class Cody saying that there are jobs for Bubba…now I know what he meant. SS will now be my Bubba. I had another restaurant that I cleaned for as well and am now calling to cancel them as well…just too much effort for what they pay. Been doing for over a year, and it just isn’t worth it anymore.
Thanks Brian.
June 26, 2006 at 11:10 pm #146868hbottumwaParticipantAre you kidding! Pizza Hut’s not bad. Last year a chinese restaurant called and wanted a bid. Even after three weeks I still didn’t return their call. Thinking they got someone else, I… my family took be there (so I could pay the bill) They somehow know who I was and asked me about cleaning. I said I wouldn’t clean it for less than 25 cents a sq ft. They said that was crazy. I turned to my wife and said “It was crazy, I should of said 35cents a sq ft. Restaurants are really hard on buffer pads and beauty sleep.
June 27, 2006 at 7:27 pm #146869AnonymousInactiveAgree with all. Odd hours, nasty carpet and the failure of owners to communicate the code for the alarm system on day of cleaning.. Cops were more than understanding and even felt sorry for me after seeing the floor.
