April 25, 2006 at 1:57 am #146275AnonymousInactiveI think the Amish have the right idea. I’m considering building a carriage, drawn by two mules, to carry my equipment. Sporting the H.B. logo on the side of the mules and the carriage. I hear oats and water are still pretty cheap!

(unless you would like that filterd?)April 25, 2006 at 9:45 am #146277pachecoParticipantIn Lancaster County, PA, we are in the heart of Amish country and I have recently been considering how much they are laughing at me or rather us “English” as I drive by their buggies from time to time…
Then again I also think of how the Arabs, Venezuelans and oil company executives and their friends and associates are laughing at the entire situation as well… They must be in disbelief at their windfall.
I am reminded as to what businesses Bush and Cheney were in prior to being elected P/VP…OIL!!!!! And there is no conflict of interest? I can remember a freeze many years ago and the reduction of the speed limit to conserve…zero, zip, nada from the govt now.
I just paid $75 to fill my van…very sobering. Especially when I distinctly remember $ .23/gallon here in the states in the 60s and $ .19 in Okinawa when filing my car in 1970.

April 27, 2006 at 12:33 am #146281AnonymousInactiveGas is 2.79 in northern Iowa. I refuse to eat this increase. I have increased my rates to adjust for the gas increases.
April 27, 2006 at 1:57 am #146282AnonymousInactiveWe have too Brian. We are paying just at $3 a gallon.
April 28, 2006 at 2:52 am #146283AnonymousInactiveJust ordered 700 gallons for a bulk tank at 2.89. NASTY fuel bill and will probably last month and half, maybe. 🙁
April 29, 2006 at 11:12 am #146284AnonymousInactive🙁 for the month our fuel bill,512.00 ! @##!!#*&#@.
April 29, 2006 at 3:00 pm #146285AnonymousInactive$512 Ouch!! Does that include the Twinky you buy at each fill?
So $512 thinking that we make about 1/3 of gross, you have to do $1500 of business just to pay the fuel bill. That is gross!
July 11, 2006 at 11:25 pm #146286hbottumwaParticipantIt’s been a while since someone posted here. I was reminded yesterday about how much gas truck mount steamers use when they clean carpets. I had an appt. and the person across the street used a steamer. It was running loud and all I could think of is all the gas I used when I used to own one years ago. Using the customers electricity is much, much cheaper way to go.
So… how adout to price of bottled water?
April 18, 2007 at 11:18 pm #146287AnonymousInactive😯 gas is now very near $3.00 gal.add a little extra to each job.april gas bill is now at $405.00 and it is only the 18th.is anyone else doing anything to comp. this .
April 20, 2007 at 11:31 pm #146288HB2003ParticipantI am considering just adding a buck or two to the total bill on each job. It is totally insignificant to the customer, but it helps pay for the gas…
