I cleaned for a lady that’s putting her house in the market. Everything turned out great. Except she had in almost everyroom pee spots mix with blood from her cat that was sick at the time. It’s along the walls and behind were the furniture was. She didn’t know about it for awhile. She had here carpets cleaned about two years ago and they tried but with no success. My first thought was red dye. Hit a spot twice with a little yellowing on the towel, but not enough. Spot lightened up but not enough to make huge difference. Tried a little blood remover with even less success. This may be my hardest spot yet. I see her at church and she really wants the spot out and is willing to pay almost whatever it take to get it out. She is convinced that it will come out after looking on the internet. The spot is old and she doesn’t want to replace the carpet. Any thoughts or has anyone had to get this out?
March 14, 2006 at 2:00 am #145975AnonymousInactiveIf her previous cleaner was a “steam cleaner”, then they may have used hot water to clean it and set in the blood portion of the stain. We have come across blood via vomit that did not come out. Sorry can’t be of more help as it sounds like you have done what I would have tried.
March 14, 2006 at 2:22 am #145976AnonymousInactiveI know we are suppose to use only HB products but just the other day, I had a blood/urine stain on a cotton blend sofa pillow. I tried everything, brought it home and applied a stong mix of oxy-clean. Let it dry overnight to find the stain gone by morning.
March 14, 2006 at 4:44 am #145977HBPuyallupParticipantIt was chem-dry
March 17, 2006 at 2:52 am #145978Va06ParticipantMatt, I’ve heard about simular success using oxy-clean, some of the maintanance workers use it on apartment properties that I service, and report good results. It’s something about the oxinization and chemical response. However, if its in a corner or somewhere not highly visible I would do a “patch”, or suggest dying the spot. Hope this helps.
March 17, 2006 at 2:58 am #145979AnonymousInactiveFYI, Oxy-Clean has the same active ingredients as Chlorox-2. That said, Oxy-Clean may be worth trying if the customer is that desperate. Had a customer yesterday that had used Oxy-Clean for Carpet on her dog spots and it seemed to work (although the spots were just slightly bleached out where she used it).
March 17, 2006 at 3:19 am #145980Va06ParticipantMatt, one more thing, I’ve seen a few customers ruin their carpets using oxy clean by completely removing the stain and fiber color, or causing super clean spots. Be very careful. Don’t let their problem become yours!
March 17, 2006 at 6:31 am #145981AnonymousGuestIf yu have already used all of our HB products, it sounds like you are dealing with a permanent stain. I personally took care of a job where a lady had used oxy-clean on a coffee spot. She claimed that made the spot worse. I’m not sure what strength she used or if she used anything else. I aggree with Steve and suggest a possible patch job. We subcontract this work out to a local carpet store that has great repair technicians. Also, if the pad in the problem areas needs replacing, the techs could take care of this at the same time. They also refer all carpet cleaning inquires to us, this works great.
Good luck!
March 18, 2006 at 4:11 pm #145982HBPuyallupParticipantShe’s really wants the spot out. She doesn’t want to replace it or patch it. It is in almost every room and not just a little spot. I tried oxc clean and used the mixture it say for carpet. Then it said let it sit for 1-5 minutes. I let it sit overnight. Came back and nothing didn’t hurt the carpet the stained looked just the same. I went and put blood remover on a spot a let it sit overnight. My experience with blood remover is that it usually works right a way so we will see. I also found some of the old pet enzmye and tried different spot I am going back the today to see what happened. I will report back. Thanks for all the input.
March 18, 2006 at 7:29 pm #145983HBPuyallupParticipantAnother update:
The spot where I had applied the pet enzyme came out almost all the way about 90% of it. She was excited and so was I. I then proceed to extract and apply pet enzyme to the rest of the house. 2 1/2 gallons of mixture later the house is covered. I am going back on Monday to finish the work. I will give you and update on Monday.March 19, 2006 at 12:07 am #145984AnonymousInactive😮 most of the oxy clean users have actually bleached out portions of the carpet.see it all the time.of course i can see costumers mixing higher doses.i generally question everyone,so have you tried to remove this yourself prior.oh ,we tried resolve ,and or oxy.circumstances play a roll of course.hope it pays for you.im sure you know all this anyway
March 20, 2006 at 8:37 pm #145985HBPuyallupParticipantOne last update:
I went over there today after letting the pet enzyme sit on the spots for at least 36 hours. Went and extracted it and looked better but was still there. I got out a lot of urine but the pink was still there. So I told here this was all I could do. She was appriciative for the hard work. I hope all of this helps everybody out. I sure learned a lot doing this. If Heaven’s Best can’t get it out no one can.March 20, 2006 at 9:20 pm #145986FL18ParticipantI agree with Lauara Burkhard. If you’ve done all you can then it is a permanent stain. Putting too many mixtures of chemicals can cause problems later on down the road. Blood/Protein remover should have removed the blood and then your pet enzyme, or vice versa. We’ve never had a problem with blood but some pet stains are permanent as well as other types of stains. Atleast you tried and gave the customer the “pickle” they deserve.

April 26, 2006 at 1:28 am #145987Linda OrrKeymasterI was wondering what you charge when you do so much work but can’t get the problem taken care of.
May 11, 2006 at 1:18 am #145988HBPuyallupParticipantI had already clean the rest of the house. That was over $250. The extra work she told me to let her know how much. I don’t like when people do work and don’t have any results but a $100 bill. So I didn’t charge her anything. As well as other specialy spots. That require red dye.
